Welcome To The Watchman's Blog

"Son of man, I have appointed you a watchman to the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, warn them from Me."~Ezekiel 3:17

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ, I am a Watchman and the curator of this site.

What is a Watchman you ask?

In the ancient world of agrarian societies, large watchtowers were placed overlooking the fields. There, in the weeks the crops were ripening toward harvest, men would stand watch, guarding the fields from animals or from thieves who would make off with the crops. With the community’s basic food stores at stake, the watchman’s role was critical to the townspeople.

We also find several references in Scripture to a watcher mounting the city walls in times of stress to survey the scene outside the fortifications. He was situated on a spot from which he could monitor the approaches to the town. If a threat appeared, he would sound a warning and the town would shut its gates and prepare for battle.

God uses this role to illustrate the job of the prophets He sent to comment on society’s behavior, as well as to deliver messages of warning and instruction. God charges this group to watch for the safety of the city and its citizens. These special servants understand the dangers of the present world. They see the dark clouds gathering on the world's horizon and are moved to proclaim a warning message to all who will hear.

Jesus Christ and His Disciples

In Mark 13:32-37, in Jesus' prophecy of the end time, he urges His disciples three times to "watch" during the times leading to His second coming. The emphasis is on a personal watch through prayer to know the times.

To those of us who are watching, Biblical end-time prophecy is being fulfilled almost daily. All final days players are taking their positions and all final day markers are in play.

This is a time for the watchmen to mount the walls and sound a clear, unmistakable warning message of the dangers facing the whole world. It is a time to make known the hope of the coming Kingdom of God.

Today's true Christians are meant to shoulder this grave responsibility now in the last days. We are to share in the role of standing vigil like a watchman of old, and showing the way forward through the apostasy and evil in much of our world.

This blog is my response to that call.

Thank you and God bless.
